Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how BandWith Inc. ("BandWith," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information through Goose and the related web experiences that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Service").

The Service includes fan accounts, live stream playback, community features, archived media, releases, search, TV device linking, and event-entry experiences. Some parts of this Privacy Policy apply only when you use those specific features.

Personal information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, information collected automatically from your device and browser, and information we receive from service providers or other parties involved in delivering the Service.

  • Account and contact information. This may include your email address, display name, profile details, phone number, and authentication or verification status when you sign in, finish an account, or manage your profile.
  • Profile and community information. This may include profile photos or avatars, biography text, location, favorites, follows, attendance history, bookmarks, chat messages, reactions, and other information you choose to add or make available through community features.
  • Media, playback, and activity data. This may include search history, release and track interactions, playback events, stream participation, error states, and related usage data needed to operate live and on-demand experiences.
  • Event and entry information. If you register for an event, contest, or early-entry flow, we may collect information such as your full name, email address, guest details, phone number, ticket reference, queue or winner status, and related event activity.
  • Device, browser, and log data. We and our providers may automatically collect information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, timestamps, pages viewed, navigation paths, session data, and crash or diagnostic information.
  • Information from third parties. We may receive information from infrastructure, authentication, communications, analytics, media, or entitlement-related partners when needed to operate the Service, protect the Service, or deliver a feature you use.

How we use personal information

  • Provide, maintain, secure, personalize, and improve the Service.
  • Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, send verification codes, and support sign-in or account recovery flows.
  • Deliver community, playback, event, TV-linking, and other interactive product features.
  • Communicate with you about the Service, including transactional, support, administrative, security, and event-related messages.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot bugs, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, and protect BandWith, our users, and the Service.
  • Analyze usage trends, understand feature adoption, and develop new product functionality.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and establish or defend legal claims.

Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Service, keep users signed in, remember settings, protect forms and authentication flows, understand how the Service is used, and diagnose stability or performance issues.

Depending on the feature and configuration in use, these technologies may support analytics, fraud prevention, session management, device-linking, and debugging tools such as error monitoring or session replay-style diagnostics. You can control many cookie-related settings through your browser, although some features may not work correctly if you disable them.

How we share personal information

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and infrastructure providers. We use vendors to host, secure, analyze, communicate, and power the Service. Our current stack includes providers such as Convex, Vercel, Cloudflare (including Turnstile and Stream), PostHog, Sentry, Resend, and Twilio.
  • Other users or the public. Profile fields, community activity, attendance, chat, reactions, or other content you choose to share may be visible to other users, and in some cases may be visible more broadly depending on the feature and your settings.
  • Affiliates, advisors, and business counterparties. We may share information with corporate affiliates, auditors, lawyers, insurers, banks, acquirers, investors, or transaction counterparties where reasonably necessary.
  • Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information when we believe doing so is necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, property, or security of BandWith, our users, or others.

Analytics, diagnostics, and service improvement

We use analytics and observability tools to understand how the Service is used, measure feature adoption, improve the user experience, and identify or fix outages and software errors. These tools may receive identifiers, event data, device and browser information, page and route activity, and limited account context when relevant to the feature or error being recorded.

Our systems may also generate internal product and operational records such as playback telemetry, search activity, moderation data, and diagnostic logs to support quality, security, and abuse-prevention workflows.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the feature involved, and the sensitivity of the data.

Your choices and rights

  • You may be able to review or update certain account and profile information directly through the Service.
  • You can manage cookies through browser settings, subject to feature-related limitations described above.
  • You can choose not to provide certain information, but some parts of the Service may not function without it.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about our processing, and you may have a right to appeal a denial of those requests where required by law.

International transfers

BandWith is based in the United States, and the Service is hosted and supported using providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Data protection laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet or stored in our systems.

Children

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information unlawfully, please contact us through the channels made available on the Service so we can investigate.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your use of the Service after an update becomes effective means the updated Privacy Policy applies to your continued use of the Service.
